ABOUT MIONO HIGH SCHOOL

About us

Miono High School is a distinguished government institution established in 2011 through a collaborative initiative between the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Kingdom of Belgium under the School Around The World ( SATW) program. The school was developed as a two-phase project, reflecting a long-term vision to create a modern and fully equipped center for science education.

Phase One, which has already been successfully completed, laid the foundation for academic operations, including essential teaching and learning facilities. Phase Two, which focuses on the expansion of dormitories, classrooms, staff houses, and the completion of sports and playing grounds, represents the continued commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the overall student learning environment.

The school was officially opened on 9th October 2013 by His Excellency Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, marking a significant milestone in Tanzania’s commitment to advancing science education. Since its establishment, Miono High School has been dedicated to offering high quality Advanced Level education with a strong focus on Science combinations PCM, PCB, and CBG.

With its first enrollment of 170 Form Five students in July 2013, the school has grown into a reputable institution committed to academic excellence, discipline, and innovation. It was established as part of the government’s broader strategy to address infrastructure challenges faced by many schools and to provide a conducive learning environment supported by well equipped laboratories, a resourceful library, and qualified teaching staff.

Registered under the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MoEVT) with Registration Number S.4719 and NECTA Registration Number S.5145, Miono High School continues to uphold national standards while striving to produce competent and future-ready graduates.
